About Me
Living With Rheumatoid Arthritis Taught Me That Support Changes Everything
Hi, I'm Krista. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and I'm so glad you're here.
For a long time, I thought having a chronic illness meant I had to do it alone. I pushed through pain I shouldn't have pushed through. I said yes when I needed to say no. I pretended everything was fine when it wasn't.
I did this because I believed that asking for help meant I was weak.
I believed that needing support meant giving up.
I believed that if I just tried hard enough, pushed through enough, I could prove to everyone around me that my diagnosis didn't define me.
But here's what I've learned: My diagnosis doesn't define me, but it is a part of me. And that part deserves care.
What Changed
About three years ago, something shifted. I stopped measuring my worth by how much I could accomplish on the hardest days. Instead, I started paying attention to what actually helped me live a better life.
I discovered compression gloves that made mornings easier.
I found ergonomic tools that let me keep doing the things I love without exhausting my hands.
I learned that heat therapy isn't just comfort-it's a form of self-care that reminds me my body is worth protecting.
And I realized something profound: The tools and strategies that help me through difficult days aren't signs of weakness. They're signs that I'm learning to work with my body instead of against it.
That's when I started sharing what I was learning with other people living with invisible illnesses. Because I knew I wasn't alone in this, and I suspected there were other people out there searching for answers the way I was.
Why I Started Healthy Haven Enthusiast
This blog exists for one reason: to show you that living well with chronic illness is possible.
Not the kind of "possible" that means ignoring symptoms or pretending they don't exist. But the kind where you find tools, strategies, and support that help you protect your energy, reduce strain, and do more of what matters to you.
I started Healthy Haven Enthusiast because:
I wanted to create a space that feels like coming home. If you live with rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, or any invisible illness, you already know how isolating it can feel. You know how exhausting it is when people don't understand. Here, you don't have to explain. Here, your pain is real, your challenges are valid, and your need for support is understood.
I wanted to share what actually works. Not miracle cures or things that worked for someone else's body. Real strategies and thoughtful products that have genuinely helped me navigate life with chronic illness. Everything I recommend is something I've personally tested or used.
I wanted to remind you that you're not alone. Whatever you're experiencing right now-the morning stiffness, the unexpected flare-ups, the fatigue, the fear about the future-someone else understands. And you deserve to know that your struggles don't make you weak. They make you one of the strongest people I know.

A Little About Me (Beyond the Diagnosis)
When I'm not writing about chronic illness, you'll find me:
Wrapped in a weighted blanket with a hot cup of tea and a good book
Planning low-energy dinners that actually taste good
Researching new adaptive tools that might make life a little easier
Spending time with the people I love, doing whatever my body allows that day
I'm a big believer that having a chronic illness doesn't mean your life has to shrink. It just means getting creative about how you live it.
